september goals

We are at the very beginning of my most favourite time of the year - September 1st to December 31st. I tolerate the rest of the year (I am exaggerating a lot when I say this because life is really good the whole year through) but this third of the year makes me so HAPPY! I love everything fall has to offer - the colours, the clothes, the food, the smells, the weather, the start of soccer season, the family get-togethers ... Yes! I love it ALL :) Going to have to set some great goals to go along with this amazing time of the year! It truly is (for me) "The most wonderful time of the year!". What are your goals for the fall/winter?

September Goals:
  1. Drink more H2O.
  2. Take more photos.
  3. Get front window on our house fixed.
  4. Get our furnace inspected (bought the Groupon so now just have to call and get an appointment set up).
  5. Work on truly not caring what anyone else things and not needing validation. I am good enough and I need to know it!

Updated August Goals:
  1. Continue going to my Monday night appointments. (More on this in a future post.)
    • I have only missed one of these since I started. To say that I love going and that I am proud of myself are both understatements :)
  2. Finish a jewelry project I have been working on for a friend's birthday.
    • Done, presented and loved :)
  3. Save enough money to replace our front window.
    • This will be done by the end of September!
  4. Start and finish reading the book 'Boundaries'.
    • Finding this very challenging and amazing at the same time. I actually get really
  5. Visit my Grandma at least twice.
    • Done and done. Love, love, LOVE!
On-Going Goal Updates:
  1. Start working on Legare's MOH speech.
    • August: Have not started but do have it on my list and have some very fun ideas for a starting point.
    • September: Starting working on a little something, something extra for my main girl. Excited about it!
  2. Create summer photo albums as gifts for two very special people in my life.
    • August: Have purchased supplies but have not physically started working on this project. I feel okay about this as these are Christmas gifts so I have time.
    • September: Have purchased more supplies and printed off some photos. Can't wait to jump into this a bit more over the fall!
  3. Brainstorm for an on-going creative project.
    • August: Haven't figured out an 'on-going' project but have been working on a few different things here and there so I feel really good about that. Lots of ideas floating through my head - now it is just time to start executing those ideas!
    • September: I think it is fair to cross this one off the old list. With three scrapbook and a few jewelry projects on the go, I am feeling quite creative at the moment!
  4. Book some time off to work around the house.
    • August: I just talked to the girls in the office about booking the last week of August off. A week of doing a lot of nothing here I come.
    • September: DONE! I still need to paint the fence but Chad and I had all of last week off of work. It was a bit of a disaster but this goal can still be marked as complete!
  5. Eat more slowly, say grace and think before eating.
    • September: I have zero clue as to why but this is such a challenge for me!
  6. Brainstorm more ways to use my organizational skills for a possible career choice.
    • September: I'm going to take this one off the list because I am very confident that I am going to stay where I am until we have a child. More on that later (and nope - not knocked up yet!)
  7. Work on a craft project per week.
    • September: I am so on it!
  8. Get my recipe project in order and start cooking them!
    • September: Must work on this for the fall.

last night ...

Last night I got my hair cut and I love it! You know in the movie Hook when the Lost Boys are touching Robin Williams' face and looking for Peter and then the cute little one says "Oh there you are Peter!" - well that is exactly what I feel like - like I found myself again. Love! Thank you to my favourite hair dresser or all time - Ms. Sandra.

When I got home I took Lexxus for a quick walk and then dropped her back off at home and I went for a longer walk (she is old and chubby and gets way too excited when every cat in the neighbourhood would like to say hello to her so I don't last long - ha ha). After I got back neither Chad nor I were very hungry so we had ice cream sandwiches for dinner. Hey - I went for a walk didn't I? :)

Chad went to bed (he gets up 3 hours before I do so I have to give the guy a break for not staying up with me every night) and I played on my iPhone and watched Mirror Mirror. So did not understand Snow White's eyebrows but overall it was a pretty cute movie for children of all ages.

Any one have any big plans for the long weekend?

so much inspiration for this friday ...

I guess the inspiration has to last me through the whole long weekend :) Enjoy friends!

my favourite blog ...

Meet Elise. She is the most amazing, cool and talented friend I have never met :) She actually doesn't even know I exist in this world but her blog is my #1 fave in my Google Reader. She creates MAGIC with her craft creations and I can feel that she has a great spirit. Follow her, be inspired by her and support her. She is awesome.

recent romance rental

I put my name in at the library for "The Vow" and my turn came up earlier this week. I had to watch it by myself because the husband was not interested (not surprised at all by that) and I LOVED IT! I thought it would be super predictable and super lame and (hold your horses ladies) I am not a huge Channing Tatum fan. But, like my girlfriend said on Facebook, who would argue with that sweet and adorable man being your husband - whether you remember or not!? :) Enjoy ladies!

recent movie rentals

Do not understand why this was even movie. And why an awesome actor like Liam Neeson starred it. So confused.

Amazing. Hilarious. A must see. Do it and enjoy!

I'm not sure if it is just me but I could watch Jason Statham all day long. This movie kept my interest but I think he was the main reason. I rented this for the husband and he just said, "It was okay." So I guess you could take it or leave it.

I thought this movie was adorable. I loved the message it shared and thought it was really well done. I didn't have high expectations when I hit PLAY but I thoroughly enjoyed it the whole way through. Definitely a watch for kids young and old.

And just because everyone needs a little love from Sons of Anarchy's Jax. Happy Tuesday Friends!

monday's inspiration ...

Cheers to a wonderful and beautiful week!

my latest wish list addition

When I was planning our wedding, the theme was "Fall/Pumpkins". I was on the hunt for some pumpkin related accents and couldn't find anything that worked. We got married September 25, 2010 so you would think that leading up to September, I would be able to find fall/Halloween decor everywhere. You would THINK this but it wasn't the case. Fast forward to 2011 and 2012 right before September - PUMPKINS EVERYWHERE IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES! My girlfriend is getting married November 10, 2012 and when she started planning her wedding, she wanted a little white owl on each table to represent her Grandma. When she began her search, she could only find one or two choices and way out of her price range. Now - every single store on the planet has owls - in all shapes, sizes and price points. Because of her obsession with finding the perfect addition to her centerpieces, I have now got a ceramic, glossy white owl obsession. I now have 5 in our bedroom and find myself looking every time I go into a home decor store. Anywho - long story long - I think this needs to be added to my obsession collection. Happy Monday friends!

happy hump day inspiration ...

And my personal inspiration and love ... Chance and Sidney, my twin niece and nephew. xo

"do I get a present too?"

I just had to share this sequence of photos from a birthday party we attended last weekend! Meet Ms. Julia. She is my cousin Suds' daughter with his gorgeous (and delightful) wife Sarah. Suds is a pilot and they live in Hong Kong but come home to visit family and friends whenever they can. The last time I saw Julia in person, she was literally just a little bundle of joy and now, she is a walking/talking little girl - crazy how that happens :)

Since Julia and her big sister Ella live in Hong Kong, I decided to bring them gifts to my other cousin's little girls', Abbey and Ainsley's, birthday party. This is what happened ...

"Hey Julia, it's present opening time!"

"Well what the heck? How come every other little girl has a present except for me?"

"Okay good. This makes more sense. Let the gift opening really begin!"

"Hmm ... this is tougher than I thought!"

"Clearly I need a little help."

"I know! Nana will help me!"

"Ah - this is better ... now let's see what we got here."

"That's it? Look at all the goodies the birthday girls got!"

"Whatever! I'm going  back to my swing where I should have stayed in the first place!"

Big love Ms. Julia! xoxo

a belated birthday present

I just came back from a delicious Subway picnic belated birthday lunch in the park with my girlfriend Crystal.  It was only an hour but whenever we get together, it is like a counselling session for both of us - we talk, we listen, we remember - it is very therapeutic and really wish we could do it more often. The sun was shining and her little dog Charlie got some alone time to run around in the field - it was a great mini break in the middle of the day. She really enjoyed the necklace I made her ... it was sparkly and pretty - just like her! Now it is back to reality and off to set-up for a work event! Enjoy your Tuesday friends!

Visit me on Facebook to see more designs and updates. Thanks friends!

this weekend i watched

Yes - I hadn't seen this before. And no - I was not a fan. Yes - I watched it by myself because the husband went to bed early one night. And no - I do not recommend watching this alone. Not scary but not some pretty disturbing scenes to say the least.

1 part Jax from Sons of Anarchy + equal parts soccer (sorry, I mean 'football') = an enjoyable movie! But really, anything with Charlie Hunnam is worth the time it takes to watch it!
