it's a sad, sad day for vancouver

Riot Breaks Out After Game In Vancouver

Last night the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins (4-0) in game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Play-offs. They had a great run for the cup and should be applauded for making it as far as they did - Boston just had more heart than they did AND Boston was able to put the puck in the back of the net.

So the Canucks lost - HUGE bummer for Vancouver hockey fans but instead of just going home and getting ready for the 2011/2012 season, the crowd downtown turned the loss into a disaster. It started with flipping portable toilets (with people inside them) and escalated from there into a full blown riot including smashing windows, looting, fighting, flipping cars and setting vehicles on fire.

No one was safe downtown thanks to a full idiots who, most likely even if the Canucks had pulled off a win, were ready to celebrate without any style or respect at all. Such a disgrace for a city that is coming off such a huge high for both the 2011 Winter Olympics and (let's not forget) the Canucks getting the President's Cup at the end of the regular season.

So much to celebrate but it really is true what they say ... a few bad apples can spoil the bunch. I am sure a lot of parent's are hanging their heads in shame today. Were you downtown last night? Were you one of the ones who disrespected other people's property? Were you one of the ones who thought it was cool to steal, break, punch, fight or burn?

All I can say is that if you are one of those people? Karma is a bitch and even worse - a whole city is looking for you today. Good luck with that!
