'every human should read these' list
I randomly came across this post recently: 'Every Human Should Read These' List. I currently only have 1 of these books on my shelf but found this list interesting. Do you read self-help books on a regular basis? What is your favourite that you would recommend to a friend?
august goals
I feel like I just did this yesterday for July. Honestly ... where does the time go? I guess it is flying by because I am having such a good time :)
August Goals:
- Continue going to my Monday night appointments. (More on this in a future post.)
- Finish a jewelry project I have been working on for a friend's birthday.
- Save enough money to replace our front window.
- Start and finish reading the book 'Boundaries'.
- Visit my Grandma at least twice.
Goal Updates:
- Start working on Legare's MOH speech.
- Have not started but do have it on my list and have some very fun ideas for a starting point.
- Create summer photo albums as gifts for two very special people in my life.
- Have purchased supplies but have not physically started working on this project. I feel okay about this as these are Christmas gifts so I have time.
- Brainstorm for an on-going creative project.
- Haven't figured out an 'on-going' project but have been working on a few different things here and there so I feel really good about that. Lots of ideas floating through my head - now it is just time to start executing those ideas!
- Figure out my work social media plan (schedule, tools, reports, etc).
- COMPLETE! WOOHOO!
- Book some time off to work around the house.
- I just talked to the girls in the office about booking the last week of August off. A week of doing a lot of nothing here I come.
I decided to put some of my previous goals into an on-going goals list because they aren't something that I can accomplish overnight (let alone over a month). This is what I continue to work on:
- Eat more slowly, say grace and think before eating.
- Brainstorm more ways to use my organizational skills for a possible career choice.
- Work on a craft project per week.
Get back to making jewelry.Supplies purchased and a project is in the works!- Get my recipe project in order and start cooking them!

reading and being inspired
Just finished this audiobook and it was SO GOOD! Highly recommend it as a summer read. A bit above chick lit and definitely held my attention on the drive to and from work. Enjoy!
Just started reading Kat's latest book. I asked the library to order it in and they listened - love that! This one is more about her life than the tattoos but set up in the scrapbook style that I love. Will probably finish this one over the weekend.
And your Thursday bits of inspiration ...

reading lately ...
She is adorable!
A great read about aging ... it happens to the best of us! :)
A powerful story about an abused wife and mother and how she deals with it. Beautiful!
Half way through and enjoying it ... gotta have some "easy and fun" reads for the summer!

baggu rocks!
I made my first purchase from Baggu a few weeks ago and I have been meaning to do a shout-out to this amazing online company (just my thoughts, not a paid endorsement).
I use a nylon bag every day for my lunch, papers, etc. that I have to take to and from work. I received one from my girlfriend a while back but it was starting to tear and get really rough looking so I wanted to get a new one. I had read about Baggu on a blog a while back so I thought I would give them a try.
I ordered this:
and these:
but when I looked at my confirmed order, I found out they were sending me the three pouches and this:
I hadn't even looked at the Seahorse bag previously so I was confused. There isn't any way to go back and check your order on their site so I emailed them. I got a very quick reply that included an apology and a lovely note telling me that they were sending me the Moon bag at no charge and to keep the Seahorse one as well.
When I picked up my order I was delighted with the quality of the bags and pouches ... and with customer service like that, I will definitely be purchasing more products from Baggu in the future!

july goals
I know it sounds so repetitive because everyone is either talking about how fast time flies or the weather, but holy crap - how is it July already? And where is the sunshine? (Yes - I am now officially old.)
My May and June goals kind of blended in together (some are just going to be on-going as they are not something I can just check off and mark as done). Let's see what July has to offer!
As you can see I have a lot of goals still left to accomplish but I feel good that they are written down and I am working towards them.
- Start working on Legare's MOH speech.
- Create summer photo albums as gifts for two very special people in my life.
- Brainstorm for an on-going creative project.
- Figure out my work social media plan (schedule, tools, reports, etc).
- Book some time off to work around the house.
Eat more slowly, say grace and think before eating.
July: On-going.
May: My mind has been working at this every day and night. Still in the thinking stage but getting closer ... I can feel it!
June: Unfortunately I haven't made much progress on this one so it has to stay on the list!
July: This is in my mind constantly. Still brainstorming away and really have to see how I can make this happen in one creative form or another.
Work on a craft project per week.
May: Been doing more thinking than doing on this goal but I can feel it coming together. Hello Crafty May!
June: Dreaming but not doing. Must DO in June!
July: OBSESSED but have not done this so far. Must. Make. This. Happen.
Get back to making jewelry.
July: OBSESSED but have not done this so far. Must. Make. This. Happen.
Get my recipe project in order and start cooking them!

DONE!
recently ...
We have been watching these series and loving the latest seasons ...
I read this book and actually LOVED it. Not the best writing (what do you expect) but pretty inspirational and uplifting. Who knew! :)
We watched these three movies over the weekend and I do not recommend any of them. Oh well - at least I can pass that knowledge on to you ...
