just finished

Listening to the audio book "Night Road" by Kristin Hannah. This one had a lot of emotional ups and downs but the one thing I love about Kristin's novels, is that she follows the characters through years, sometimes decades, so you get to see what happens to the characters long-term instead of in the moment. Check out her novels for a great, easy read - you won't be disappointed.

friday inspiration

hello friday, nice to see you again

Happy Friday Friends! It is hard to believe how quickly the weeks run away from us. Oh well - nothing you can do but hold on and enjoy the ride! It is beautiful outside today - the sun is shining and there is a light breeze. Unfortunately I am stuck in the office until 5:00 though but thankfully my office has a whole wall of windows. Small blessings :)

This is for all my Ninja friends. Since our soccer team changed its name to the Ninjas, we crack ourselves up when we find anything Ninja related and post it on Facebook. Yes, we realize, we are huge dorks. But at least we are Ninja dorks :)

Saw this on Lauren Conrad's blog this morning and it cracked me up. Can you imagine ...

Chad and I watched "Arthur" last night and it was just what I thought - horrible. The only good thing about it was Helen Mirren but in that same thought - why the heck would such a wonderfully talented actress take on such a dumb movie in the first place? Russell Brand is such a moron - how in the world does he have more money than I do without any talent whatsoever?

At a recent work event, I purchased the Bona floor cleaning system from Nufloors Langley and it is amazing. We have laminate flooring so they just switched out the hardwood floor cleaner for the laminate cleaner. It works like a charm and I have now gotten rid of my Swiffer WetJet (horrible for floors in the long term - so many chemicals) and my steamer (shouldn't use it on laminate floors and we don't have enough tile to justify keeping it around). Since we moved in to our home in June 2010, I have been trying to find the perfect (and easiest) way to clean my floors - and I just did! I think the whole unit was about $60.00 but a good investment in my books!

wednesday hump day dump

Wednesday's inspiration ...

Last night Chad went to bed early so I made myself a cup of apple cinnamon tea and curled up on the couch to watch "One Day". I ordered this from the library because I saw a preview at one point that interested me or it was just a new release on their list (there is no real rhyme or reason to my library selections). I wasn't sure about it because I don't always love Anne Hathaway but I loved it. Romantic, funny, heart warming, tragic and beautiful - all rolled up into one comfy story line. It was like watching a good book unfold on the TV screen. I highly recommend it for a rainy evening in - not that we are going to get any of those any time soon :)

tuesday's inspiration

meh ...

I watched these two movies the past two evenings and both were really just okay. "Red Riding Hood" consisted of a very sketchy story line and "Happy Feet Two" was incredibly cute and I just wanted to hug the little penguins but seriously - once he started belting out the opera, I very quickly wanted to turn it off. Oh well - will have to wait and see what the library has for me next to check out :)

I have been using a ton of new iPhone apps lately and am in love with a few of them. One old and one new and I use them both lately. Check them out!

Old ... Keeps me focused and always gives me a wonderful reminder about gratitude on a daily basis. I base entire journal entries around some of these messages. Worth the $4.99 investment for a year of inspiration!

New ... I started using this FREE calorie counting/fitness tracking yesterday and I am in love with it. So easy to use and I have already started making better decisions today as I am now accountable to my phone ... oh and to myself too :) Check it out!
