resolutions!?

I've been thinking a lot about setting some resolutions for 2011 but I am always setting goals so instead I have decided to focus on the following quote throughout the New Year ...

‎"The best way to get started is to quit talking & begin doing." ~ Walt Disney

This means that all those goals that I keep putting off ... it is now time to put up or shut up. My main goal for 2011 is to fully embrace and become Mrs. Van Den Berg. Full name change and focusing on being the best wife I can possibly be.

Instead of putting a number to a weight loss goal, I am going to focus on making healthy decisions. I will be 32 in February so - eventually - a baby (hopefully) will be on the way so it is time to get back to treating my body like the temple that it is. Can't wait to incorporate yoga back into my life ... I need to drink more water ... eat less junk food. Just simple decisions to make my whole being feel better.

I can't wait to see what 2011 has to bring ... 2010 was the best year yet so I hope we can top it!

Cheers to all my friends making the best of their New Year too! xo

my favourite christmas memories

We had a wonderful 2010 Christmas! We went to Christmas Eve church service with Elaine and Curtis. It is always a fast hour of fun, entertainment and singing. I love our new tradition. Then we spent a bit of time at Dennis and Elaine's - had a few beverages and just relaxed. Then it was off to Mom and Jim's to visit with the neighbours and for appetizers, new PJ's, a visit from Travo and a snuggle in bed with the hubby while we watched the new "Christmas Carol" movie. Christmas Day started off with a few gifts and then I watched a bit of the Disney parade while Jim and Chad went and picked up Grandma Donnelly. We opened the rest of the gifts and then had a yummy french toast and bacon breakfast (another loved tradition). Relaxed for a bit and then off to Chad's parent's for turkey dinner with the whole family. Fun visit with the twins and Curtis, played my new Disney Apples to Apples game, lots of presents and yummy food - truly a Christmas to remember!

new year's eve - hello 2011!

We had the best time on New Year's Eve at the Team Andrew Fundraiser event at the Venue in Langley. The fabulous party was put on by Andrew's wonderful sisters - Katy and Leah - and Chad and I were honoured, not only to attend, but to help set up and be a part of the planning process. There were tears shared, drinks drank, entertainment watched and laughs all around. It was a wonderful evening spent with friends new and old. I can't wait to watch Andrew out live us all. Cheers to a happy and healthy 2011 and to the Vaydo family for being on-going rockstars. In Andrew's own words ... FUCK CANCER!
