doesn't this look inviting?

here comes rox the bride!

Chad and I spent a wonderful + relaxing couple of days in Kamloops this past weekend. Friday night we met with Dale and Kristen for yummy pub chicken burgers and cocktails. A few drinks later and a LOT of high school reminiscing, we were beat and hit the hay. Saturday, July 24th was met with gorgeous Loops Sunshine. After Dale made us waffles for breakfast, we hopped in his truck and drove to see Kristen's parent's place near Sun Peaks ... it is going to be a beautiful home. After that we took a drive through Sun Peaks Village and then it was back to their place for lunch and off to the wedding!

next up ...

Loving Jane Green right now and just started her latest novel, Promises to Keep, last night. Her writing style is so easy to read ... before I know it, I have read another chapter. She has a way of describing her characters in such detail that it is almost like you are with them in the story. If you are looking for a light, easy summer read, I would highly suggest one of Jane Green's stories.

spa party with the parents

I had a BeautiControl spa party last night and unfortunately my bridal party was not able to make it so we made it a family affair! Chads's mom and brother came + my mom and Jim were in tow. It was a great evening filled with laughs and lotions. Cannot wait to do it again!

Chad actually participated but made me rub his feet - go figure!

Jim getting in on the action - I think he even bought some products!

The Lip Treatment ... and a fresh face!

This was my hostess gift and it is a miracle product - BC Spa Manicure Instant Manicure. I would have bought it for sure if I didn't get it as a gift! So worth it!

A new blog find ...

next on the list ...

This one was just sitting there on a shelf in the library with a bunch of other "wedding themed" books. Don't know how I missed this one so far but can't wait to get into it!

I am currently listening to Jennifer Weiner's "Goodnight Nobody" on my drive to and from Aldergrove every day. Love her witty writing style. Only she can mix humour and murder to create a delightful tale that I am sad to shut off every morning when I reach the office.

I know, I KNOW the dog dies but I am still going to give it a listen. Don't know if I could handle the movie or actually reading the book but I think I can handle it in my car, behind the steering wheel. I will have to wait and see!

invictus

Amazing story! Timely (Soccer World Cup and all)! Easy to watch. Fantastic. LOVE!

next up in my library of things to read ...

julie & julia

I wasn't able to finish the book version of "Julie & Julia" but last night I made it through the movie. It was an easy watch. Very cute in some parts and smart and entertaining in others. The only thing that really bothered me about this story is that it mentions that Julia thinks that Julie was "disrespectful, etc." but they never mention again if Julie and Julia actually had any contact, etc. I am guessing not but that would have made for a much more interesting storyline. I guess real life isn't always as exciting as we might hope for!
